I am wowed every time I see the Branson show, #1 Hits of the 60s. I mean, this is the music I listened to as a kid. It's the stuff my older brothers and sisters grew up with, and the stuff on the oldies station when my wife and I were first married. I cannot sit in the show without singing along and clapping. So many people sing along that I cannot help but wonder how the cast can hear themselves. People dance in their seats and no one cares.
This show is a Branson stable, and by that I mean that it is open every year, consistent, and good. At the same time, it is fresh every year. With a decade of Top 40 hits to choose from, they mix it up season after season, and they ocassionally throw in some of the best stuff from the 50s. Each year, the show replaces songs from their act with other songs from the sixties. They change dance routines, costumes, lighting. If you saw it last year, then come back. It will be different enough this year to be a fresh, new show, yet familiar enough to make you remember why you love it so much.
The show has won many awards over the years, which is no surprise to those of us who love it. #1 Hits of the 60s has garnered much recognition in its twenty seasons in Branson. This show could find success anywhere. It is worthy of a Vegas stage or Broadway footlights, but we are glad they are in Branson. Yes, this show is fit for the entire family. Last I saw it, about half those dancing were under 20. Teens and kids love #1 Hits of the 60s as much as I do.
